P2Pool is a distributed peer-to-peer pool, this node is just one of many that are all connected into one massive pool. This node is located in the United States. Please make sure you use a node that is close to you - lower latency means less stales - also add some backup nodes to your miner from the node scanner that way you are always mining in the unlikely event that something were to happen to this node.
Tip: The P2Pool server will give a lower minimum share value to your worker just to keep the communication going. This will not cause your payouts to be any less, just more erratic. They will come in clumps. The higher your hash rate is relative to the size of the whole P2Pool pool (not just this node), the more regular your payments will be. With that in mind, P2Pool has always been considered to have a higher payout over time than regular pools.
If you wish to manually control your pseudo-share difficulty outside of the range provided by the dynamic system, you can modify the wallet address that you use as your username. The reason for doing this is if you think you're submitting too much useless work to the pool. By tuning the difficulty you can increase the lowest difficulty that your worker gets from the pool. The way you do this is that you append a value to your wallet address based on this format:
